Libidon

A-16, prostate peptide bioregulator

Longevity & BioregulatorsOral🧪 Theoretical

Libidon is a prostate-derived peptide complex sold as capsules, listed in the vendor's A-series as A-16. It carries a mechanistic tension that no page in this market states out loud: the proposal is to restore protein synthesis in the one male tissue where excess growth is the actual disease. That tension is not a refutation, and it is not a scare either. It is the thing a reader deserves to have named, along with the marker that would show it.

Research & educational use only. The information below summarizes published research and mechanisms. It is not medical advice or a recommendation for human use. The protocol that uses it — dosing, sequence and what to retest — is inside Skool ($10/mo).

Coach Cam’s take

The Khavinson literature behind this is decades deep, almost entirely Russian-language, and rarely replicated by any independent group — small single-arm series rather than controlled trials. Absence of replication is not evidence it fails; it is an absence of the evidence that would settle it either way. Dose and course length follow the manufacturer's convention, not a trial. Prostate symptoms warrant a PSA and a clinician before anything else — the Vault's PSA marker page covers what that number does and does not mean. Prostate-directed, an alternative to Prostamax. Course pattern: roughly 10 days on, then off, once or twice a year. To know whether it did anything, baseline PSA before starting, then repeat. Run it as an experiment you measure, not a protocol you trust.

What Libidon actually is — and why that changes the mechanism

Libidon is a prostate-derived peptide complex in capsules, sold in the vendor's A-series as A-16. The class mechanism is transcriptional: short peptides from an organ enter nuclei in that organ and shift gene expression toward a younger pattern. Follow that claim into the prostate and it produces a tension nobody in this market states.

The tension, plainly. The condition this product is bought for is benign prostatic hyperplasia, and hyperplasia means the tissue is already growing more than it should. A preparation whose stated mechanism is restoring prostatic protein synthesis is proposing to do more of the thing the pathology consists of. That is not a refutation and it is not a scare: 'restore a younger transcriptional pattern' and 'grow' are not synonyms, and a younger prostate is a smaller one. But the two readings predict opposite outcomes, and the marker that separates them, PSA, has never been reported before and after a course of this product, in 0 published studies.

What the complex commits to, in numbers. A 2-residue peptide has 400 possible identities and a 3-residue one 8,000; the label selects among none of them. The originating group's 2021 gene-expression review is indexed by sequence, crediting 98 genes to AEDG and 36 to Lys-Glu, and carries no prostatic entry — so the transcription claim printed on vendor pages for this capsule is borrowed from work on other molecules in other tissues.

And the route problem, which for an oral product is the hard one. The only named mechanism by which an intact peptide crosses the gut wall is PEPT1 on the brush-border membrane of the small intestine, and the originating group's own 2022 transport review puts its substrate range at 'basically all di- and tripeptides' — molecules of 2 and 3 residues. A complex of unstated chain length is not one. The single route this product's own class cites is a route it does not qualify for.

What the primary literature on Libidon actually says

Transport of Biologically Active Ultrashort Peptides Using POT and LAT Carriers
Khavinson V, Linkova N, Kozhevnikova E, Dyatlova A, Petukhov M · International Journal of Molecular Sciences 2022;23(14):7733 · PMID 35887081

The 2022 transport review — PEPT1 on the brush-border membrane of the small intestine, substrate range 'basically all di- and tripeptides'. This is the only named route by which an oral peptide product reaches the circulation intact, and it carries molecules of 2 and 3 residues. A capsule of unspecified peptide complex does not qualify for the one delivery mechanism its own class cites.

Peptides of pineal gland and thymus prolong human life
Khavinson VKh, Morozov VG · Neuro Endocrinology Letters 2003;24(3-4):233–240 · PMID 14523363

The 266-subject elderly series. Thymus and pineal preparations, injected, no urological endpoint, no PSA measurement, no symptom score. Cited here because it is the study vendor pages point at when they say the class has human data.

The efficacy and safety of animal-derived nootropics in cognitive disorders: Systematic review and meta-analysis
Alsulaimani RA, Quinn TJ (independent — not the Khavinson group) · Cerebral Circulation – Cognition and Behavior 2021;2:100012 · PMID 36324709

The 2021 independent systematic review — 24 randomized trials, 2,245 participants, risk of bias moderate to high, certainty of evidence low to very low. Cognitive endpoints only. It is the only grading this class has received from outside the school that produced it.

What is not here. Nothing is indexed under the trade name Libidon. The prostate-extract clinical literature that does exist is published on Prostatilen and Vitaprost — different products, and a record does not transfer by similarity of tissue. Searched through Europe PMC, PubMed and Google Scholar on 2 September 2026. Naming the gap is more useful than filling it with a paragraph of hedging.

Why the Libidon evidence is weak — and what it still showed

Almost every human result in this class comes from one school — Vladimir Khavinson's institute in St Petersburg and the groups around it. That means single-center data, collected by the people who developed the compound, rarely blinded, never pre-registered, and reported across enough endpoints that something was always going to move. Read anything below against that.

Specific to Libidon. The specific problem for Libidon is that the prostate has a standard blood marker and a validated symptom questionnaire, and neither has ever been reported for it. PSA is measured routinely, with a traditional cutoff of 4.0 ng/mL, a percent-free fraction where above 25% is reassuring and below 10% is concerning, and a velocity that matters more than any single value. The International Prostate Symptom Score is free and validated. A product sold for prostate function with 0 published PSA values and 0 published symptom scores has skipped the two cheapest steps available to it.

The count: 0. Nothing is indexed under the trade name Libidon — no trial, no animal study, no mechanism paper — and 0 PSA values and 0 symptom scores have been published for it. Searched through Europe PMC, PubMed and Google Scholar on 2 September 2026 under the trade name and the tissue name.

The nearest real literature belongs to different products, and that distinction is load-bearing. Prostate-extract clinical work does exist in the Russian-language record, published on Prostatilen and Vitaprost. Those are not this product. A record does not transfer between preparations by similarity of source tissue, for the same reason a result on one manufacturer's extract is not a result on another's: an extract is defined by its process, and 2 processes are 2 products.

What that leaves, stated as an epistemic position. A capsule with 0 published results of any kind, aimed at a condition with a validated symptom questionnaire and a routine blood marker banded at a traditional cutoff of 4.0 ng/mL, in a class an independent 2021 review of 24 randomized trials and 2,245 participants graded at low to very low certainty. Unproven is not disproven. It is also not a reason to skip a PSA baseline that costs a fraction of a course.

What is actually measured, and what is not. Measured: nothing under this name. Not measured, and both are routine: PSA, with a traditional cutoff of 4.0 ng/mL and a percent-free fraction where above 25% is reassuring and below 10% concerning, and the International Prostate Symptom Score, which is validated and free. Also not measured: composition, oral bioavailability, prostatic tissue concentration. The prostate-extract clinical record that does exist belongs to 2 other products.

Not proven is not the same as disproven. Everything above says the evidence is weak. None of it says the compound does nothing. There is no adequately powered trial that ran and came back null, because outside Russia there is essentially no trial at all — this class is unfunded, not failed. A reader who leaves thinking “disproven” has learned something false, and so has one who leaves thinking “proven”.

Libidon pharmacokinetics — how much of it actually gets in

The half-life field reads 'not characterized' and that is the correct answer. A mixture has as many clearance curves as it has components, and 0 measurements have been published for this preparation in any species.

What can be reasoned. Any short peptide that reached plasma would meet serum aminopeptidases and clear in minutes. That does not sink a transcriptional claim, because a signal that changes gene expression outlasts the molecule that delivered it — but it does mean the interesting quantity for an oral capsule is absorption rather than clearance, and absorption is exactly what nobody has measured. Anything that did cross the gut wall would then face hepatic first-pass extraction before reaching an artery, and the prostate is downstream of that.

Now do the arithmetic the blank was hiding. Compare the oral products in this class against the injectable ones and the oral form carries roughly 29x more material per day, and on the order of 571x more across a full course. Take an injection as fully bioavailable — 100% by definition, no gut wall, no hepatic first-pass — and the implication is direct: for the oral route to deliver comparable systemic exposure, on the order of 0.2% of what is swallowed would have to arrive in the circulation intact. Whether a peptide mixture can manage that has never been measured — not for this product and not for any product in this family. Stating the bound is honest. Claiming the fraction would not be.

What that ratio is and is not. It is the vendors' own implied answer to a question nobody has measured: an injection is 100% bioavailable by definition, so the gap between the oral and injectable amounts in this class is a bound on the fraction assumed to survive the gut. It is not a bioavailability figure, because 0 have been published for any compound in this family. Stating the bound is honest; claiming the fraction would not be.

What would have to be true for Libidon to work

The chain. (1) The capsule would have to contain active peptides — 0 published assays. (2) Some fraction would have to cross the gut wall intact — the only named route, PEPT1, carries 2- and 3-residue peptides and this is a complex. (3) It would have to reach prostatic tissue in a meaningful concentration — never measured. (4) It would have to change transcription there — never observed in prostate for anything in this class. (5) That would have to produce a change you can feel or measure — and here the tools are unusually good.

Two endpoints, and one of them is free. The International Prostate Symptom Score is a validated questionnaire used in every serious trial of this condition, costs nothing, and can be scored before and after 8-12 weeks at home. PSA is the blood half, with a percent-free fraction above 25% reassuring and below 10% concerning, and with velocity mattering more than any single value. Running both before starting is the difference between an experiment and an anecdote.

  1. Prediction 1 — PSA (Total + Free + % Free). should not rise; the traditional cutoff is 4.0 ng/mL and velocity matters more than any single value, before, and 3-12 months after starting anything prostate-directed. This is a negative prediction and it is the important one. If a prostate-derived preparation is doing what its mechanism claims — restoring prostatic protein synthesis — the honest question is whether that shows up as a rising PSA. Nobody has measured it. A baseline value before starting is what makes the answer knowable for you personally, and it costs less than a course.
  2. Prediction 2 — ipss. should improve by a clinically meaningful margin or the product did nothing you can feel, 8-12 weeks. The International Prostate Symptom Score is a validated questionnaire rather than a blood test, it is free, and it is the endpoint every real benign-prostatic-hyperplasia trial uses. Running it before and after is the single most informative thing a reader of this page can do, and it requires no laboratory at all.
  3. Prediction 3 — Total & Free DHT. worth a baseline at 30-85 ng/dL, because it is the androgen that drives prostatic growth, 8-12 weeks after starting or stopping a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor. DHT is converted from testosterone by 5-alpha-reductase in the prostate and is the androgen the standard drugs for this condition are designed to suppress. If you are on one of those drugs, its effect on both DHT and PSA is far larger than anything an extract could produce, and any before and after comparison has to account for it.
  4. Prediction 4 — Urinalysis, Routine. should be negative for blood, nitrites and leukocyte esterase, before starting. Urinary symptoms have causes that a dipstick finds in minutes — infection, and blood that needs explaining. Treating those with a peptide capsule is the specific failure this test prevents.

Run these before and after, not after alone. A single post-course number tells you what your body is doing, not what Libidon did to it — and that difference is the entire point of testing.

Libidon versus the alternatives

Libidon versus the drugs that have actually been through this, which is the comparison the category avoids. Benign prostatic hyperplasia is one of the better-studied conditions in men's health. Alpha blockers act within days on smooth-muscle tone; 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors shrink glandular tissue over months by cutting conversion of testosterone to DHT, banded at 30-85 ng/dL, and predictably halve PSA in the process; tadalafil carries an approved indication. Every one of them was measured with the same symptom score and the same blood marker this product has never reported. On evidence that is not a close call, and the honest reason to be reading this page is that you already knew it.

And against its own sibling. Prostamax targets the same tissue as an injectable short peptide rather than an oral complex, which removes the gut-wall problem entirely and leaves the same 0 published prostate results. Between two products with no evidence, the one whose delivery route is not self-refuting is the better-reasoned purchase — which is a very low bar and worth naming as such.

What you are actually buying when you buy Libidon

A certificate cannot identify an extract. Sterility, endotoxin, total protein and the absence of named contaminants are all establishable; the contents are not, because the product is defined by a process rather than a formula and there is no mass to check against.

The oral form adds a second unanswerable question and one answerable one. Unanswerable: what fraction leaves the gut, given that the class's own transport route carries 2- and 3-residue peptides. Answerable, and worth asking every vendor in this category: is there a mass-spectrometry profile of the capsule contents at all? Not an identity test — there is nothing to match — but a published profile would be the first compositional fact anyone has produced about a prostate bioregulator, and 0 vendors in this market publish one.

A capsule certificate describes a capsule. For an extract it cannot establish identity, and for an oral extract it says nothing about what leaves the gut — which is the question the class's own transport review makes unavoidable, because the transporter it names carries 2- and 3-residue peptides and this is not one.

Cell, rodent, human — and where it stops

The prostate is one of the few tissues in this catalog with a human paper from the last year. Borovets 2026 reports on prostate-derived complex peptide preparations and erectile function in patients with chronic prostatitis, published in Urologiia in 2026. It is the most recent human result in the whole class and it is on this tissue. It is also Russian-language, single-center, and about a clinical population — men with chronic prostatitis — rather than about aging men in general.

Prostate tissue is also one of the seven the group's own extract survey covered. Ryzhak 2015 compared calf-tissue extracts from cortex, pineal, liver, prostate, thymus, heart and cartilage in organotypic culture from rats of different ages. That makes prostate one of the better-served tissues here at the cell level, which is a low bar cleared rather than a high one.

The adjacent human result is about a different organ. Gomberg 2013 reports correction of age-related bladder function with a peptide geroprotector — bladder, not prostate, and a different product. Lower urinary tract symptoms come from both organs and the two literatures get blended in marketing copy constantly. They are not the same evidence.

Where it stops. No trial has been published on Libidon under its own name; a PubTator3 search for the trade name on 6 September 2026 returned exactly one record, an ethnobotanical survey of medicinal plants in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which matched on a string rather than on a subject. There is no PSA value, no IPSS score, no uroflow, no post-void residual and no measurement of prostate volume anywhere in the record for this product. Khavinson 2022 covers the delivery step computationally and Khavinson 2021 is the class-level gene-expression review.

What nobody has tested yet

The IPSS is free, validated and takes two minutes. The International Prostate Symptom Score is the standard instrument for exactly the complaint this product is bought for, it is used as a primary endpoint in real urology trials, and it needs no laboratory. A product sold for prostate health with no published IPSS data has avoided the cheapest measurement in its own field.

And uroflowmetry with post-void residual settles the mechanical question. Peak flow rate and residual volume distinguish a symptom that is improving from an obstruction that is worsening. Both are standard, both are quick, and neither has ever been reported for any product in this family.

Extrapolation, labeled as such. If a prostate peptide complex genuinely affects prostate epithelium, then PSA is the measurement most likely to move — in either direction, and either direction would be informative. A fall would be the first hard biochemical evidence this class has ever produced. A rise would matter more, because PSA is a screening test men in this demographic are already having, and an unexplained rise triggers biopsies. Nobody has ever reported a PSA on this class, so nobody knows which way it goes.

Libidon — safety specifics for this compound

Specific to Libidon: the named risk is a missed diagnosis, and the prostate is the tissue where that costs most. Urinary symptoms overlap between benign hyperplasia, infection, bladder pathology and prostate cancer, which is among the most common cancers in men, and the tests that separate them are ordinary: a PSA with its traditional 4.0 ng/mL cutoff and a percent-free fraction where above 25% is reassuring and below 10% is concerning, plus a urinalysis that should be negative for blood, nitrites and leukocyte esterase. Using an unstudied capsule for months instead of taking those is the failure mode. There is also an unresolved mechanistic question that this page will not pretend to settle: a product proposing to restore prostatic protein synthesis has 0 published PSA measurements behind it, so nobody can say what it does to that number. A baseline before starting is what turns that from a worry into a measurement.

Libidon — interference & stacking

What Libidon moves on your bloodwork

Expected direction, not a measured one.

The evidence base here is almost entirely one research group's, largely in Russian, and rarely replicated independently. That is the single most important thing to know before running a course, and it is more useful than any interaction list.

Libidon — what interferes with this one specifically

The specific interference is with PSA, and it is large enough to invalidate any before-and-after that ignores it. 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, taken for the same condition this product is sold for, predictably lower PSA by roughly half within months — which is why clinicians double the measured value when interpreting it in men on one. Anyone starting this capsule while on finasteride or dutasteride, or stopping one, has a PSA moving for a reason that has nothing to do with the capsule, against a traditional cutoff of 4.0 ng/mL. The same caution applies in the other direction to anything that raises PSA transiently, including recent ejaculation, vigorous cycling, urinary infection and a digital rectal examination, which is why a draw is best taken before those rather than after. Second: alpha blockers change urinary symptoms within days, so a symptom score taken alongside a new alpha blocker is measuring the drug.

Libidon — frequently asked questions

Is Libidon a peptide or an extract?

An extract — a peptide complex from prostate, not a single defined molecule. That is why a certificate of analysis cannot confirm its identity the way it can for a synthetic peptide.

Is there a human trial of Libidon?

Nothing is indexed under the trade name Libidon. The prostate-extract clinical literature that does exist is published on Prostatilen and Vitaprost — different products, and a record does not transfer by similarity of tissue.

What should I measure if I run Libidon?

Before and after, not after alone. The falsifiability section on this page names the specific markers, the direction each should move and the timescale — and says what a null result would rule out.
