• Most published work comes from the ingredient supplier, at 5-10% in an occlusive vehicle, measured by profilometry over 4-8 weeks. Treat the vehicle as part of the claim: at 1.9 kDa this is a large molecule to be asking through the stratum corneum, and the same peptide in a light lotion is not the same product.

How the mechanism reads

• Acetyl hexapeptide-8 — mimics the N-terminus of SNAP-25 to compete with SNARE assembly and dampen acetylcholine release.
• The premise is sound and the delivery is the problem: it is a hexapeptide applied to intact skin, aiming at a target below it.
• The mechanism is specific and worth understanding, because it sets the ceiling. Acetyl hexapeptide-8 mimics the N-terminal end of SNAP-25 and competes for a place in the SNARE complex, which modestly reduces neurotransmitter release at the neuromuscular junction. Same target family as botulinum toxin, several orders of magnitude weaker, and applied to the outside of intact skin rather than injected into the muscle.
• Which means it can only ever touch DYNAMIC lines — the ones that appear when you move. A line that is visible with your face at rest is a structural change in the dermis, and no amount of any topical peptide addresses it. Judging Argireline on a static line is judging it on a job it was never doing.

How to use Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Raw)

This is a raw active, not a finished product: you are buying the ingredient to formulate with. It needs a vehicle, a sensible concentration and a pH that suits the molecule before it does anything at all. Same as SNAP-8: dynamic lines only, applied where the movement is. It needs an occlusive vehicle above it to have any chance of getting through. What working looks like: softer movement lines at 4-8 weeks, and only where you applied it.
