Fructosamine
Measures glycated blood proteins, reflecting average glucose over the previous 2–3 weeks rather than 2–3 months.
The alternative when HbA1c is unreliable — and it often is. Anemia, blood donation, hemoglobin variants and recent blood loss all distort HbA1c. Fructosamine sidesteps all of that, and responds faster to intervention.
Optimal ranges, root causes, and the complete correction protocol — nutrition, supplements, lifestyle, hormones and peptides — plus 100+ other markers.

On its own, one marker is a data point. These panels include Fructosamine plus the markers that make it interpretable — each names every test, why it is on the list, and loads the whole set into your cart in one click at 10% off.

Why your Fructosamine might be wrong
Most abnormal results are interference, not disease. These are the things that measurably move this specific marker — check them before you change anything. Each one says whether the number is wrong and should be repeated, badly timed and should be redrawn, or real with a cause worth explaining.
Fructosamine measures glycated serum proteins, mostly albumin. Anything lowering albumin — liver disease, nephrotic syndrome, severe illness — lowers fructosamine independently of glucose.
Check albumin on the same CMP before trusting a low result.
Both interfere with the colorimetric method, generally reading falsely low.
Stop high-dose vitamin C 48 hours before.
Not an interference so much as a property people misread: fructosamine reflects a much shorter window than HbA1c's three months.
Use it when HbA1c is unreliable, or to see a recent change sooner.
What Fructosamine means in combination
A single marker tells you a little. Combinations tell you the story — these are the named patterns this marker takes part in, and what each one points at.
HbA1c depends on red cells living a normal lifespan. Anything shortening it — haemolysis, recent donation, a high haematocrit on TRT — gives the sugar less time to attach and reads falsely low. Fructosamine uses serum proteins instead and is unaffected.
Where the two disagree, trust fructosamine and check a CBC. Note fructosamine only looks back 2–3 weeks, and it reads falsely low if albumin is low.
What to test next
Markers rarely answer alone. These are the ones that put Fructosamine in context — each with its own full breakdown.
